One engagement, up close
A fixed income OMS for a Tier-1 bank in Mexico, on the bank’s side. Eighteen months, fully remote from Dubai on Mexico City hours, seven user groups from traders to governance. Three decisions, and the thinking behind each.
1
The order flow
The flow handed to the vendor had open end points and API triggers at many stages. I went through each one with the bank team to find the actual use case and redrew it. Result: a flow business and technical users could both read, and the vendor could build from.
2
The pricing feed
The bank planned a second market data feed for bond prices without a full picture of the contract, the infrastructure or the feed’s limits. I showed the timeline impact and that the price data was already available in the existing setup. Result: one integration fewer, less cost, less time.
3
The security data gap
The platform’s security import needs mandatory fields; the bank’s in-house source was missing some and formatted others differently. Several sessions with that team: formula fields in the platform, new fields on their side. Result: security data flows correctly and has stayed stable.
